So today I am going to talk to you about something my 6 year old had suggested. I asked her, if you were a mom, and you wanted to help other moms, what would you tell them. And she thought for a moment, and she said, “I would tell them to stay focused,”
How’s that for a 6 year old? So for this episode my daughter would like to remind you to stay focused.
What’s distracting you from your goals and from creating the life you want to live my friend?
So first thing, you’ve got to get super crystal clear on what life you want to create in the immediate future, we’re talking, these next few months, this next year.
You’ve got to get clear on what your next steps are in order to create that life.
You better have at least 1 goal you’re working on at any given time. Because if you don’t you’re not going to feel excited to get up and live fully and give your all.
Let’s talk about your distractions.
Mainly I want to talk about what’s eating up your brain power.
Is social media eating up your time and energy? Consider taking a week-long break, so you can take control of your brain again.
Are people in your life taking up your time and energy? And obviously I’m not talking about your immediate family, but what about friends, extended family, neighbors… people who are important, but here’s the thing you need to remember, what’s important to them might not be the most important thing to you. So recognize if you are a people pleaser, recognize if you try to fulfill people’s requests that take up your precious time and energy that YOU need to devote to your goals and to building the life you want for your family.
Do home projects keep popping up and distracting you from what you really need to be working on to get you where you want to be?
Do spontaneous outings, or shopping, or other things distract you?
You need to remember that all of the things you enjoy, all of the things you love, all of the things you want to do, they are very valid and important, but you need to be intentional with your time.
If you want to build and create and amazing life for you and your family, you better be living every minute on purpose. Working, shopping, relaxing, connecting with your kids, cleaning house, working out, working on your goals, whatever it is you spend your time on, just make sure you’ve scheduled these in, and that you’re doing what you intended to be doing for the day.
Be intentional with your day,
Plan your day in advance.
Protect your energy. Your mental, physical, and emotional energy.
Your life is what you make it. You are the designer of your life, and it’s all about how you spend your time.
You are an important asset to your family so take care of yourself, take care of your energy. You are a leader in your family, so set an example in how you spend your time on what’s important to you.
Your goals are important. Your vision for your family’s life is important. So get clear, be intentional, and as my daughter Audra would tell you, stay focused my friend…
